Clinic for Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery
"According to the motto 'first save lives, then improve well-being', we see our task in plastic aesthetic and hand surgery first in the treatment of injuries, tumours, burns and wounds. In the second step, it is often of great importance to restore well-being and physical and mental balance. Often, the patient also suffers from parts of his or her physicality, without this being connected with an injury or a disease. This is where aesthetic surgery can make its contribution."
(Chief Physician Dr. med. Matthias Evertz)
The aim of the Clinic for Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery is to restore patients’ lost natural body shape and function. To accomplish this, it works with other clinics on an interdisciplinary basis and provides special examination methods and treatment procedures.
The work of the clinic mostly involves interventions rendered necessary as a result of accidents and burns, illnesses and major operations. But its work also extends to correction of congenital anomalies or age-related changes.
The substantive areas of focus particularly comprise hand surgery, plastic-reconstructive surgery and aesthetic surgery, also referred to as ‘cosmetic surgery’.
All of the services we offer concern sensitive aspects of the patients’ bodies. With this in mind, the expert consulting, professional skills, professionalism and discretion we offer meet the highest standards.
Among other things, the services offered include:

Partners of the breast cancer centres
After loss of the breast due to cancer, reconstruction of the breast can improve the body image and stabilise the patient’s psyche. The Clinic for Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery can offer reconstruction methods with autologous tissue, as well as with silicone implants. In this, the Clinic for Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery of the Municipal Hospital of Pirmasens can draw upon its vast experience as a partner in the Breast Centre 'Kooperatives Brustzentrum Westpfalz und Nahe’ and in the ‘Breast Cancer Centre of Pirmasens’.
